As the digital streaming landscape continues to evolve, Brazil's iOS users have shown varying levels of engagement with top film and television applications in the first quarter of 2024. Here, we delve into the performance of five prominent apps during this period, with data sourced from Sensor Tower.

Globoplay: Novelas, séries e + experienced a notable peak in weekly active users (WAUs) reaching nearly 950K in early January, before stabilizing around 870K towards the end of March. Download trends peaked at roughly 246K in the second week of January, with a gentle decline to around 71K by late March. Revenue for the app reflected a steady performance, with weekly numbers hovering between $325K and $436K.

HBO Max: Stream TV & Movies also saw a significant engagement in the early weeks of January, with WAUs around 547K, but experienced a sharp decline to approximately 115K by the end of March. Downloads mirrored this trend, starting strong at about 49K and dropping to roughly 10K. The app's revenue maintained consistency in the early weeks, ranging from $191K to $219K, before experiencing a dip to around $17K.

Disney+ showed a more gradual decline in WAUs from 764K in the first week of January to about 645K in the last week of March. Downloads started at 51K, descending to 38K during the same period. Revenue trends for Disney+ indicated moderate fluctuations with a high of $127K and a low of around $99K.

Star+ maintained a relatively stable user base with WAUs starting at 472K and ending the quarter at around 487K. Downloads saw a slight increase from 42K to 44K. Revenue for Star+ fluctuated slightly but stayed within the $66K to $74K range throughout the quarter.

Max: Stream HBO, TV, & Movies, released at the tail end of February 2024, demonstrated impressive growth in a short span. Downloads surged from 282K in the final week of February to 215K by late March. WAUs showed a steep climb from 193K to nearly 598K. Revenue followed suit, starting at $155K and climbing to $170K.
